Bennett's Birthday Party
Last night we finally had Bennett's birthday party. The theme was an "almost sleepover." The girls all came in their PJs, brought a pillow and stuffed animal, and we did everything you would do at a slumber party but then they went home to sleep in their own beds! When we decided on that theme, we knew it would be too crazy to try to invite all the girls in Bennett's class, so we decided to wait until school was out to have her party so that we didn't hurt any feelings. We ended up with 8 girls, and that was a great size!
Then we had cupcakes and ice cream. Bennett just wanted ice cream, but I kind of made her include cupcakes. She's too funny about not liking cake!
Next, we headed downstairs and did some Disney karaoke. Also, I had two of our neighbors come over to be "big girl helpers." We set up a manicure station for them, and they painted all of the girls' nails.
The girls couldn't wait to get their nails painted! So many colors to choose from!
Next, we gave everyone glow necklaces and turned off the lights to play freeze dance. They danced in the dark, then when I turned on the lights they had to freeze.
After that, we headed upstairs for crafts. We decorated sleep masks that I had made out of felt and also decorated pillow cases.
Hollye Anne's sleep mask was the most elaborate!
Bennett then opened gifts- such fun stuff!
Finally, we headed downstairs to get cozy and watch "The Secret of the Wings" movie.
All in all, I think the girls all had a great time! I know Bennett did!

6 years and 6 months
Bennett and Bryant had check-ups together today- 6 years and 6 months! Lucky Miles got to go to swimming lessons instead!
Everyone was healthy as can be! Stats were:
Bennett:
Height: 45"- 45%
Weight: 39 lbs, 6 oz - 20%
She just can't quite reach that 40 lb mark!
Bryant:
Height: 27 3/4"- 90%
Weight: 19 lbs, 10 oz. - 80%
I can't believe he's only a few oz. away from outgrowing his infant car seat!

Bryant is 1/2!
The kids were pretty excited that it was Bryant's 1/2 birthday today! Per our family tradition, even Bryant got to try a new cereal. He tried oatmeal for the first time today! He liked it better than rice cereal, for sure! He has gotten so much more active this month! He can roll all the way across the room, and is very determined when he wants something. However, he prefers to be sitting much more than laying down. He can't quite sit up on his own yet, so we still use the Bumbo a lot, or he sits in my lap. He is enjoying his jumparoo a little more, but still demands a lot of attention! He got his first tooth this month, and I'm expecting another to pop through any day now. His sleeping has been pretty good. I'm usually just up once with him during the night. For much of the month that was between 2-3AM but lately it's been moving closer to 4-5AM. So hopefully he will be moving towards sleeping through the night soon (wishful thinking, I'm sure!). He has also moved away from the cat naps, and prefers 2-3 longer naps in his crib. He does not sleep on the go nearly as well as he used to, so having to be home for him to sleep has been a tough transition for us since we are always on the go. We'll have to make something work this summer though. Bryant really enjoys his toys now and it's so fun to watch him play and try to figure out how things work and discover new textures. He's such a happy and fun baby! Our only real struggle is still the bottle. On Mother's Day, Bryant refused to eat for 15 hours because we were trying the bottle all day. I finally gave up at 10PM and nursed him before bed. This kid is stubborn!
Yep, he's the king
What's this sticker? I'm going to check it out.
She loves him so much
My 3 loves
He couldn't take his eyes off his big brother

Myseum
Today we checked out the new kids' museum called Myseum. Bennett and Miles had a lot of fun checking everything out and Bryant cooperated long enough for us to last about an hour and a half. Yay! They had fun being Paleontologists, Veterenarians, flying down the huge slide and jumping in the bouncy house. There were also lots of hands on science experiments. We had a great time!
Getting crafty
Here are some recent crafts I've made with my Silhouette machine. I had a lot of fun making teacher gifts this year, and also the kids made a project for Grandma's "Grandma room."
