Bennett has a responsibility chart, where she earns stars if she completes her tasks. She also chooses a reward that she receives at the end of the week if she reaches her goal number of stars. Last week, she earned a trip to the Zoo. There are a few things that are free only the first hour the zoo is open, so I gave Bennett some choices. She chose to ride on the carousel and pet the stingrays. The carousel was a hit! It was Miles's first time on one and he was a little nervous at first, but then he liked it. We tried to pet the stingrays, but they swam so deep that Bennett wasn't able to reach that far into the pool to pet them. I got to touch one though and the kids thought it was fun. Our friends also met us there and we had a good time seeing all the animals with them!
Bennett and Addison
The girls posing in front of the zebras. Yes, Miles was attempting to get in and play with the zebras!!
Bennett has been doing great at her swimming lessons. We just started back up with them in March. I signed her up for a class that was just above her ability level because I thought she could do it if she was pushed a little. That was a great decision! On day 1 she was by far the worst swimmer in the class, and now she's caught right up with the other girls! Bennett's turning into a little fish, and right now she's learning freestyle, and how to breathe to the sides, and also breaststroke.
Jumping in! It took her so long to be comfortable doing this, and now she loves it!
Also, Wednesday night was Daddy night at school, so Brandon took the kids to school to do crafts and have treats for an hour. Here are a couple good pics of them before they left.
