Last night we finally had Bennett's birthday party. The theme was an "almost sleepover." The girls all came in their PJs, brought a pillow and stuffed animal, and we did everything you would do at a slumber party but then they went home to sleep in their own beds! When we decided on that theme, we knew it would be too crazy to try to invite all the girls in Bennett's class, so we decided to wait until school was out to have her party so that we didn't hurt any feelings. We ended up with 8 girls, and that was a great size!
Then we had cupcakes and ice cream. Bennett just wanted ice cream, but I kind of made her include cupcakes. She's too funny about not liking cake!
Next, we headed downstairs and did some Disney karaoke. Also, I had two of our neighbors come over to be "big girl helpers." We set up a manicure station for them, and they painted all of the girls' nails.
The girls couldn't wait to get their nails painted! So many colors to choose from!
Next, we gave everyone glow necklaces and turned off the lights to play freeze dance. They danced in the dark, then when I turned on the lights they had to freeze.
After that, we headed upstairs for crafts. We decorated sleep masks that I had made out of felt and also decorated pillow cases.
Hollye Anne's sleep mask was the most elaborate!
Bennett then opened gifts- such fun stuff!
Finally, we headed downstairs to get cozy and watch "The Secret of the Wings" movie.
All in all, I think the girls all had a great time! I know Bennett did!
